Please keep the default version of the IGMP and IGMP proxy, unless your Internet service provider has asked you to change it. This article will guide you to configure IPTV mode and LAN ports.

What is the difference between the different IPTV modes?

There are many «modes» available in the IPTV configuration page, such as Bridge, Singapore-ExStream, Malaysia-Unifi, Malaysia-Maxis and Custom.

These modes are designed for different ISPs. In other words, the mode you need to choose depends on your access provider.

  • Clearly, Singapore-ExStream, Malaysia-Unifi and Malaysia-Maxis are designed for ISPs specific to Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Bridge mode does not need you to enter VLAN information, we simply use this mode when the ISP does not require VLAN settings.
  • Custom mode is used by some of the Internet service providers that require 802.1Q VLAN settings for IPTV service.

How to configure IPTV operation correctly in a different mode?

If your ISP is ExStream, Unifi or Maxis . Simply select Singapore-ExStream, Malaysia-Unifi or Malaysia-Maxis modes. Then you no longer have to type d’additional information if you choose this mode, just click «Save» to complete the configuration.
Bridge mode is designed for other situations. If your Internet service provider does not require a VLAN ID or you cannot identify it, you can use this mode. Please refer to the steps below to set up this mode.

  • Select the mode as a bridge. Then select a LAN port for the IPTV service and record. Here I select for example LAN3 for IPTV service.

  • Then connect STB to LAN3 and try the IPTV service

If your Internet service provider is not in the list and needs the VLAN settings. Please select Custom mode and manually enter detailed settings. You must first check the information with your Internet service provider. Please follow the steps below to configure.

  • Select Custom mode, you need to enter VLAN ID for different services. The VLAN ID must be provided by your Internet service provider. For example, if my ISP tells me that it uses VLAN 40 for the Internet service, VLAN 45 for the VOIP service and VLAN 50 for the IPTV service, i type the parameters as above.
  • The 802.1Q Tag and IPTV VLAN Multicast identifiers also apply to your Internet service provider. (Normally, the’ label 802.1Q should be checked). And priority does not need to configure.
  • Then set the LAN ports for different services. For example, here I select LAN1 and LAN4 for Internet service, LAN2 for VOIP service and LAN3 for IPTV service. Don’t forget to click on “Save”.
  • Finally, connect the computers to LAN 1 and LAN4 networks to access the Internet, connect the IP phone to LAN2 for VOIP service and connect the decoder to LAN3 to watch IPTV.
